Alstonia angustifolia thrives in both primary and secondary forests, as well as peat swamps and hillsides, typically on sandy or granitic soils at elevations reaching up to 750 m, with occasional sightings at altitudes of 1,700 m above sea level. Its flowers rely on insect pollination, while its seeds are equipped with coma on both ends to aid in wind dispersal. Propagation of this tree is primarily done through seed dispersal.
