Tulang Daing thrives in both disrupted and undisturbed forests at elevations of 50-1200 meters. The flowers attract bees and other insects, making it a resilient plant that can grow in various soil types. Even severely pruned trees can survive and produce new shoots, and occasionally established plants can regrow from remaining roots. The plant is typically propagated through seeds, which should be soaked in warm water for 12 hours before planting in a lightly shaded container. Once the seedlings are large enough, they can be transferred to individual pots and grown until they are ready to be planted outdoors. Vegetative propagation can also be achieved through layering.
