Rambutan thrives in fertile, well-drained soil and benefits from regular fertilization for commercial cultivation. The flowers of the plant attract bees with their nectar, while the fruits are enjoyed by birds, bats, and squirrels, who also aid in the plant's dispersal. Mature trees can yield up to 90kg of fruit annually. When propagated through marcotting, grafting, or seed, trees can bear fruit within 1-2 years, although those grown from seed may take 5-6 years to fruit.
